On September 4, 2011, two of us from the website met with “Stan” and “Sue,” a couple in their thirties, who began having contact with Bigfoot in August 2011. To protect the Bigfoot from those who want to shoot or capture them, the couple chose pseudonyms and will not pinpoint the exact locations of their encounters except to say they occurred in or around the Smoky Mountain National Park in North Carolina. The following is their story in their own words.

STAN: I should first explain that I’ve been interested in Bigfoot since I was a young boy and saw the 1967 Patterson-Gimlin video of a Bigfoot. As an adult, I’ve researched the subject and talked with individuals who’ve had contact with the Bigfoot. I’ve learned that meditating in remote mountain areas can sometimes attract the Bigfoot who are highly psychic and spiritual.

SUE: We’ve been attempting to make contact with Bigfoot or Sasquatch that way for some time but nothing happened until Sunday, August 21, 2011.

STAN: That day we set out on a long hike into mountains about 4 p.m. After four hours of strenuous hiking, we found a spot that felt right for our meditation.

SUE: We were deep into the woods and absolutely nobody was around. As we began meditating, I heard the words in my head “Close your eyes” but it was as clear as if someone had spoken the words out loud. Then all sorts of unusual things began to happen.

STAN: We could hear about five or six pairs of bipedal footsteps around us. We felt immense energy and heard the walking for about an hour while we meditated. Every time I telepathically asked for verification of their presence we would hear a loud sound or an 800-pound bird call – obviously not a bird. We heard muffled voices, too. It was like when you hear people talking way off in the distance but you can’t understand what they’re saying.

SUE: It was so intense but every time I started to peek, I heard the words “Keep your eyes closed.”

STAN: We eventually understood that they were communicating telepathically and wanted us to keep our eyes shut because they were afraid they might spook us if we saw them.

SUE: I felt very scared, but only because there are a lot of bears in the area we were in. I telepathically communicated that I was sorry for my fear, but explained that I was afraid there might be bears around. I then telepathically heard “I am not a bear” in a humorous tone. I repeatedly asked if it was them and I got the answer “Yes” every single time.

STAN: We were not at all scared of the Bigfoot because we have done extensive research on them and know that they are by nature gentle creatures if approached in the correct manner. Though our previous attempts to contact them weren’t successful, we felt we were successful this time because we hiked far into the woods and were in a very clear frame of mind.

SUE: Our experience with the Bigfoot didn’t end with our meditation. When I started to walk a little further, I heard “Don’t go any further.”

STAN: We also got lost when we tried to go back down the mountain, so I said out loud, “We’re lost. Can you help us?”

SUE: I was really scared, but then we heard an owl sound. It was leading us.

OTHER ENCOUNTERS

STAN: The following week on August 28, 2011 we hiked up to a mountain ridge. This time we only hiked about a mile into the woods and we meditated earlier – around 5 or 6 o’clock. We felt that only one Bigfoot was present.

SUE: We didn’t get much communication that time, only a strong feeling that one of them was watching us.

STAN: Since then, we have had three encounters near our house which has lots of woods behind it. One time they left us two large hawk feathers at the exact spot where we meditate.

SUE: During one meditation near the house, I asked, “How can such a tiny cricket make such a loud sound?” The Bigfoot response was “Because he does not doubt himself.” I felt it was a message for me to not doubt my telepathic ability.

STAN’S COMMENTS ON BIGFOOT HUNTERS

STAN: There are too many people who just want to capture or even kill a Bigfoot – like they’re the ultimate hunter’s trophy. Such hunters attempt to lure them closer by knocking on trees with large sticks, which is one way the Bigfoot communicate, or by blasting recorded Sasquatch sounds into the woods. Yes, the hunters might get a response but it’s going to be an aggressive response to frighten the hunters away.

I would respond the same way if somebody pulled into my driveway, set out a loudspeaker and played a tape of a woman screaming at the top of her lungs. That would make me mad and I’d run the person off my property. So I totally understand why the Bigfoot charge, growl, throw large rocks and give off a defensive odor, like a skunk does, when threatened. Even under attack, though, the Bigfoot do not physically hurt people. They are gentle and prefer to live in harmony with all of nature.

“There is more to Heaven and Earth than meets the eye, Horatio.”

This quotation was taken to heart when I was young. Perhaps because of it, tales of Little People, fairies, leprechauns, gnomes, ghostly encounters and Bigfoot always seemed entirely within the realm of possibilities.

That realm became more real when my husband and I visited our daughter after she moved to a rural farm near the Ouachita Mountains in the beautiful state of Arkansas. Upon arrival, our first indication that we were in Arkansas Bigfoot Territory came while shopping at a one-stop convenience store where locals gathered for conversation, coffee and refreshments.

Bigfoot association cards were posted on the store’s bulletin board and we quickly learned that Bigfoot encounters and sightings often were discussed there. It was clear from what we overheard that the locals were keenly interested in the subject. There didn’t seem to be a doubter among them. We were told many of their sightings occurred around a nearby swimming, camping and recreational lake.

When we mentioned the frequency of these overheard Bigfoot conversations to our daughter, she was not at all surprised. Then she told us of two Bigfoot encounters experienced by a good friend and neighbor of hers.

Her friend and her husband have a farm by a stream bordering an ascent to the Ouachita Mountains. Early one evening her friend went outside to attend to her horses. As she neared the stream, she came face to face with a male Bigfoot.

Entranced, rather than frightened, they gazed intently into one another’s eyes. The woman said Bigfoot’s eyes seemed startled, somewhat sad and not at all menacing. She telepathically received the message, “You were not supposed to see me.” Gently and somewhat sorrowfully, Bigfoot turned away, crossed the stream and disappeared into the woods.

A week later at approximately the same time of day, she went to check on her horses’ grain which had been diminishing faster than normal. When she looked toward the stream, she saw a Bigfoot family – mama, papa and two very young ones - carrying off some of the grain as well as fruit from her trees. She noted that her horses weren’t at all spooked by four Bigfoot in their field.

When the family saw her approaching them, they began picking up pebbles and small stones and throwing them around her rather than at her. They showed no fear or anger; they simply wanted her to stay away. Telepathically she received the message, “Please do not come closer.” Then unhurriedly they crossed the stream and blended into the woodlands as early evening darkness descended.

Our daughter’s friend then related her encounters to others who had had similar experiences. Several mentioned missing fruit and grain from their farms. They also told of occasional sightings of Bigfoot families in abandoned huts in wooded areas near water. Occasionally remains of wild boar bones were found near the huts. They reported that the Bigfoot often walk in brooks and lake waters to fish but also to camouflage their tracks.

Everyone seemed to agree that they were seeing Bigfoot more often due to increased logging in and around the cave areas where the Bigfoot probably once dwelt.

Whenever any of the neighbors came across a Bigfoot, it always telepathically entreated, “Please, just let us be.”

After multiple trips to Arkansas Bigfoot Territory, I do firmly believe that these nonthreatening gentle creatures exist and deserve privacy and our respect.

We were bored and decided to kill a few hours in a car. Unfortunately, though, she had a much weaker bladder than I, so we pulled up by a local public toilet cubical so she could go about her business.

Whilst having a few minutes to myself, I decided to get out of the car, stretch my legs a bit and do a small bit of exploring, as I rarely travel to Woodside without a purpose.

There was a group of trees just down the road, and being the immature, supernatural/paranormal obsessed young man I am, I started wondering what kind of evil beasties could lurk amongst the small forest. Thoughts quickly filled my mind of stories I'd read and heard about forest dwelling witches and ghosts, and at one stage, the Chupacabras even crossed my mind. I felt a cold chill run down my spine like someone, or something, was watching me.

I decided to venture in to the small forest, and found a small clearing not too far in. My companion was always afraid of my paranormal investigative side, so I'd left her with the keys to the car, so she could get back in when she was finished and I could still have a chance to explore a little bit.

While walking through this clearing, I started to hear the most high-pitched frequency I'd ever heard, and a local farmer along with two of his hunting dogs ran past me, in the direction of it. I tried to get his attention, but he just kept on running, like a man possessed by something.

After this, I freaked out a little bit and turned to run back in the direction I'd come from, to get back to the car where, by now, my companion would have to be waiting for me (I'd been gone for approximately 15 minutes by this time).

Running through the trees and shrubs, it came to my attention that I wasn't entirely sure I was exactly retracing my steps, and I feared I may have wavered from my original path slightly, causing me to come out of the forest about 30 meters away from where I'd originally entered.

I wasn't worried that I didn't come out where I'd entered, as I expected my path to vary slightly, and I could see the car from where I was anyway. Rather, the part that worried me was that standing where I'd entered approximately a quarter of an hour ago, there was another young man, who, to put frankly, was me. He would have been my height, my build. He was wearing the same clothes as me... it couldn't be coincidence. It was me from 15 minutes ago, about to enter the forest.

I'd somehow traveled back 15 minutes and was now watching myself. I waited for the other me to enter the forest before leaving where I was, as I didn't want to somehow disturb time and space by meeting myself, and warning myself that strange things were about to happen. The moment he was out of sight, I made a mad dash back to the car; my companion was still not back.

A couple minutes passed and she came back to the car, slightly bewildered that it seemed I had not gone exploring like I said that I was going to. I explained what I'd been through and she froze, as if understanding the extremity I had put on the situation. According to her (and later confirmed by clocks) I'd been gone for just less than a minute. I don't know whether the farmer and his dogs have any relevance, nor whether the high pitch noise served a purpose, but I'd somehow traveled back in time and almost ran into myself!Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-89082094744062458832011-03-08T15:54:00.000-08:002011-03-08T15:57:31.825-08:00Mrs Jones Regular Contact with BigfootDate: 1977-1980
Location: Northern Wisconsin

In the summer of 1977, an elderly woman sat quietly reading a book on the porch of her cottage in a densely wooded area in northern Wisconsin. Suddenly, an invisible force sent the book out of her hands onto the porch floor. Bewildered, the woman looked about for the source of this mysterious happening. She heard someone laughing. At the edge of the forest stood the form of a huge apelike creature with dark auburn hair all over its body.

"I have been standing here for some time. I did not mean to frighten you; just wanted to get your attention," the creature politely said, as it pleasantly laughed again.

In three separate interviews, this elderly woman explained to me that for four consecutive summers she had telepathic conversations with a giant man-creature she came to know as Bigfoot-Sasquatch! The woman also spoke of seeing UFOs hovering above the trees, as well as hearing an eerie generator noise in the night!
Mrs. Jones' New Friend
Overview
An elderly, gray-haired woman, whom I shall call Mrs. Jones, spent her summers in the northernmost region of Wisconsin in the family cottage. Mr. Jones was not an outdoors person, but he would make the seven-hour drive from Milwaukee each summer, leave his wife at their summer place, and return in five or six weeks. Mrs. Jones enjoyed the quietude of the country and eagerly looked forward to being alone. The cottage was located at the end of an old dirt road at the edge of a wild, forested region. The following story was related to me by Mrs. Jones after much reluctance on her part to discuss the matter. She was fearful of being ridiculed or becoming a public spectacle. She swears her story is absolutely true.
Episode
"It all started in 1977 and was something that I did not understand, that was very confusing, something that I have to keep very secret, even from my husband. He's afraid of stuff like that. This has been difficult for me, as I have not been able to share the details with my husband. I hid it from everyone except my best friend.

"As I told you, the first incident occurred while I was reading a book on the front porch of the cottage. Evidently these Bigfoot creatures have the power to levitate objects, as they did with my book, which flew out of my hands. It was scary, very startling at first, but a kind, warm voice spoke to me in my head. You say it is telepathy, but I don't understand these things. I only have a fifth-grade education. But I do know that he talked to me inside of my head and that was a great revelation. He apologized for startling me and laughed frequently. This relaxed me and I came to realize that he meant me no harm. He became my friend.

"He stood at a distance of about 50 feet, so that I could only see his head and down to about his waist. From what I could judge, he was at least ten feet tall, maybe nine. He was huge. I could see that his hair covered his entire body except the face. His head and shoulders were a dark auburn color with the hair becoming a darker shade of brown on the lower part of his body. His face was similar to that of a man, not quite an ape, more like a man. The things he spoke of were inquisitive and very intelligent, so I knew there was no question that he was a man. His lips of course did not move, as he spoke to me in my mind, and he kept reminding me to think at him. I would think within myself and he would start to answer. Then I knew that, with each thought, he knew what I was thinking. And, in such a way then, we began to communicate. It was a whole new experience for me. The creature smiled frequently but I was not sure who or what he was, so it took some time for me to put into perspective that I was actually speaking to a creature that many would call Sasquatch or Bigfoot.

"I know that the average person would not understand this, and I'm sure our government would want to know of these things. But I'm more afraid of them than I am of this man you call Bigfoot. In fact, he was a friend. He told me that he watched me many times over the previous summers and that he enjoyed listening to my thoughts. Thus I came to trust him and know him some, though there were many things that he would not tell me and hid from me.

"At our very first meeting, out on the porch, I had my pet cat in a small cage on the table beside me. The previous summers I had let my cat loose, but there are many wild animals in the area. Last summer I turned her loose and she did not return for several days. It worried me sick. She kept me company during the time I lived there alone. My cat had the run of the house inside, but when she was outside with me I would place her in this small cage. She understood because she purred and seemed content. The cage was used to transport her up from Milwaukee. So there she was in the cage beside me, keeping me company on the porch, when my friend, the Bigfoot man, began to speak about my cat."

BIGFOOT (BF): What is the animal that you have in that cage?

MRS. JONES (MJ): It is my pet cat.

BF: What is a pet?

MJ: It is an animal that keeps people company. It is something to love and take care of.

BF: If you love it, why is it in that cage?

MJ: I fear it will get lost in the forest or that it will be eaten by a fox or some other wild animal - I only want to protect it.

BF: But your pet must be unhappy in that cage.

MJ: No, she is on her back purring, and to me that means she is very content. She is happy because I am here beside her.

BF: Oh, that pleases me. I did not know that. It is good to be happy.

(Mrs. Jones stands up on her porch to get a better view of her new friend. She walks to the side of the porch and stares while she begins speaking again.)

MJ: Will you please step out from behind those pine trees so I can see you better?

BF: No, I won't.

MJ: Won't you step out? I won't hurt you. I merely want a better look at you so I know with whom I am speaking.

BF: No, I will not step out.

MJ: Why not? You can see me. Here I am - short, fat, and wrinkled up - you can see me in plain sight. You can see my whole body. Won't you show yourself too?

(Mrs. Jones hears a hearty laugh inside her head, not verbally.)

BF: That's a good one. (More laughter.) You said that well about yourself. That's a good one. I must go now, but I will be back another time.

MJ: You will be back?

BF: Yes, I am here frequently but you cannot see me. I am around and always will be around, especially if you need me. I have been watching you for many years. I am always around and know what you are doing. I will talk with you another time.
"It came to pass that a neighbor woman from a few miles away stopped to ask if I needed anything, because I had no car. She would stop to check on me periodically. I told her I needed some fresh milk and several other items, plus the local newspaper. Later she returned and brought me the items I had requested. In the newspaper it told of several remote houses and cottages in the area being broken into. I didn't think much of it until a few nights later. I couldn't sleep, so I got up and went out and sat down on the steps outside by the back door. I sat, smoking a cigarette and looking at the stars, when I noticed what looked like the glow of a cigarette behind the woodshed a short distance away. Then I saw the silhouette of a man, and then the silhouette of a second man pulling the first man back behind the woodshed. Now this was late at night, about 2:00 as I recall, and I was very frightened. I quickly got up, ran inside, locked the door, and shut off the lights. I went into the bedroom and lifted up a floorboard where my husband kept a loaded .22 pistol and a small baseball bat for protection. I grabbed these and walked through the darkness to the living room. By that time, the two men were already on the front porch. One was looking in the window and the other was trying to open the door. I was panicky but kept my cool. I went over and got down behind the couch in the corner and crouched there, pistol in one hand, baseball bat in the other. I just didn't know what to do, but I wasn't going to let anyone hurt me. I could hear the men talking and trying desperately to get in the front door.

"All of a sudden there was a scream. 'God, what is that? Let's get out of here!' At this time the two men fled the porch. One moved so quickly that he fell down the porch steps. I stood and walked to the front door. Through the window I could see the two men running across the field toward an old wood road, where perhaps they had hidden their vehicle.

"I unlocked the front door and poked my head out. There was a terrible stench that was a cross somewhere between rotten eggs and a skunk. The smell was overpowering. When I looked to my left, I got a glimpse of a giant figure walking into the forest.

"The next morning I was sitting on the front porch reading the Bible when Bigfoot arrived and began talking to me."

BF: I was here last night. I told you I would be here whenever you needed me. I could feel fear at a distance. I came immediately. Those men were bad. As I said, I am always here, always around. I always know your thoughts. God bless you.

MJ: Thank you, I am grateful. I was very frightened of those men.

"The following year I began hearing strange noises in the forest. Something like a generator sound. It was real strange. It was like a generator winding up and then immediately winding down again, as if it had a broken part in it. I would sit out on the porch and listen to it winding through the night. Then some nights I would see strange lights above the trees, perhaps what other people would call UFOs. It lit up the entire woods. I had seen them go back and forth over the trees and then leave.

"Later I asked a neighbor friend who hiked up to see me (she had a cottage not far from mine) if she had seen the lights over the trees. She gave me a horrified look, saying that she and her husband observed the lights and heard a frightening howl, so he decided to take a flashlight and investigate. His wife waited on the porch. Minutes later he came running back with a look of terror on his face. When I asked her what he saw, she immediately withdrew and refused to discuss it further. She did not come back to visit me for the rest of the summer.

"A few days later I was again sitting on the front porch when my big friend came to visit me. The creature stood in his usual place where I could see only his torso with his usual wide grin."

MJ: Hello, I have not seen you for a while.

BF: Yes, I know.

MJ: Where have you been?

BF: I cannot tell you.

MJ: What were the lights I saw over the trees the other night?

BF: It is none of your business. (He said this in a kindly tone.)

MJ: I won't tell anyone about the lights, but I am real curious. Was it a space ship? And what was the strange howling when it came over? Was that you?

BF: It is none of your business. It is not for you to know.
"We spoke of many things that day, but he would not tell me about the eerie generator noise, nor about the strange lights in the woods.

"We spoke several other times over the summer. He came two days before my husband was to pick me up, and I told him that I would be going back to the city soon."

MJ: I will miss you, dear friend, for I will have to go soon. My husband will be picking me up in a couple of days.

BF: What is a husband?

MJ: He is the man who brought me here. He's the one I'm married to who cares for me.

BF: Oh, you mean your mate. Yes, that man. I know of him.

MJ: I will be back again, perhaps in the spring.

BF: What is spring? I do not know that word.

MJ: Spring is the season right after winter.

BF: I do not understand your words.

MJ: It is the season right after the snow melts.

BF: What is the word snow?

MJ: It is when the ground becomes white all over and is cold.

BF: Yes, I understand. But what is spring?

MJ: Spring is when the water has the ability to flow again. When the water is free to move and the weather gets warm.

BF: Oh, now I understand spring. Now I understand (gives a hearty laugh). That is a good one. I like how you explain that. Yes, that is a good one.
"Later, when my husband picked me up, I told him I must say good-bye to my friend in the forest. I told him I was going to walk down a small trail not far from the lake. My husband understood but he did not want to discuss it. These things frightened him. He couldn't discuss it. He sat quietly in the car reading a newspaper while I walked into the woods to look for Bigfoot. I walked some distance and then sat down under a tree for a short spell. In my mind I began telling him I was leaving now and wanted to say good-bye, hoping that we would talk again next year. He answered me immediately, though I could not see him. He said he had enjoyed talking with me and would indeed see me the following year. I was so happy. There was something beautiful about his words that gave me a warm feeling about this man. There was a true sense of love. I really did not want to go back to Milwaukee, to the city, to all the people.

"I turned to walk back toward the cottage but, after only a few steps, I heard a noise behind me. When I turned around Bigfoot was just 10 or 12 feet from me, walking back into the forest. Now I don't know why, but I didn't see him there all the time I was sitting talking to him. I don't know where he came from. He was just there very suddenly. I don't understand why I didn't see him before then. He just appeared out of nowhere.

"It came to pass that these summers meant a lot to me. I always looked forward to going back to speak with my friend again. In 1980, when I returned, we arrived late at the cottage and it was dark. While getting out of the car, I saw a huge shadowy figure standing in the trees. My husband and I went in the house in order not to disturb the creature. We were busy arranging our groceries and clothing. Suddenly, we heard a heavy thump against the side of the building. I was not frightened because I knew it was my friend letting us know that he was there. However, my husband became quite upset. I told him not to worry, that Bigfoot was a friend, and, as usual, my husband said: 'I don't want to talk about it.' I spoke to Bigfoot only one time that summer and I was very disappointed. In fact, that was the last time we talked. He said they were leaving and would go to a different area now. He said there were too many people, too much activity in the area, and he had to leave, as it was no longer safe for him. My friend promised that, if he was in the area again, he would visit me.

"I have not told others of this experience because I feared people would not believe me. I don't want anyone making fun of me. This was an experience that I'll never forget and in many ways has changed my life."Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-43464480369802317872010-11-17T15:17:00.000-08:002010-11-17T15:20:50.546-08:00Monster Gator..This monster was over 23ft long..

Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-66999268930347790472010-11-15T15:00:00.001-08:002010-11-15T15:06:42.397-08:00Strange encounter with a 'little man'<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 371px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kXKBXRbY8P8/TOG894omIcI/AAAAAAAAA-A/vUl1SQJlDSA/s400/gnome.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539916788003119554" />
This is one of the weirdest stories I’ve ever heard.
Jim, the guy who had this ‘encounter’, is the older brother of one of my closest childhood buddies. Jim is a cool person, very calm and easy-going. He’s a big outdoorsman….a hunter\fisherman kind of guy.
He’s also not into the ‘paranormal’ at all. It was actually humorous for him to even discuss this story.

When I was 12 years old, Jim was around 18 or 19, and he would sometimes let some of his younger siblings and me ride with him when he drove to the cabin that their family owned. It was about 70 miles away, in some heavy wilderness. The men in their family used the place for hunting and fishing.

There was an area that we called "the clearing", which was an open area in a dense woods. You'd follow a trail for about 3/4 mile from the cabin, and you'd come into this clearing, which was an amazing natural circle of trees. We put some tree stumps inside the clearing to sit on. I remember the sunlight filtering through the trees, which sometimes produced a fantastic effect. The place always had this vibe, like it was a powerful spot. It can be spooky. As a kid, I felt like it was almost overwhelming sometimes.

I was at Jim’s house recently, helping him with his computer. We were talking and I brought up the cabin, and I said “ There’s something about that place that’s eerie…it’s mystical”. I told him how the place literally scared me when I was a kid.

He said that he had something ‘absolutely crazy’ to tell me, that he had never told anyone, not even his wife, because it was just too crazy. He felt like I might be ‘understanding’, because of the way I talked about the place.

This is our conversation, almost verbatim…

Jim said: ‘Remember the spot we called 'the clearing'?
I saw something there in August of 1994. You won't believe me..you'll think I'm crazy... I guess a person could try to explain it away as a complete and total hallucination.
I swear I saw it as sure as you’re sitting there.’

Me: What did you see?

Jim: 'I was out there about 1 or 2 in the afternoon, and I was just walking up the trail with my .22 rifle. I was walking really slowly. I scared up a couple grouse and they flew right up in front of me, almost in my face. It got very windy and looked like it was going to rain or storm. As I approached the clearing, I heard this really spooky bird call sound. It was very mournful, like a dove or pigeon. I have no idea if that sound was related to what I saw. I could not place the sound. When I walked into the clearing, I saw this shadow, this movement to my left, so I looked over, thinking it's going to be an animal, and then I saw this little man!'

Me: What????????

Jim: 'This tiny f'ing little man! He was kneeling down, like he was doing something with the plants... he seemed to be waving his hand over some plants, and I think I startled him...he stood up.
I only saw him for about 4-5 seconds...then he disappeared into the shadows. I saw his head, neck, shoulders, upper body, and long skinny arms. He was very thin.
I doubt that he weighed 10 pounds.
I froze, absolutely motionless, and watched him.

I could actually make out some of the features on his face, even though he was in the shadows. He had this really strange appearance, like a cartoon that had come to life.
If he was wearing any clothing, it was some kind of jumpsuit, almost like a type of camouflage… I couldn’t see any discernible shirt or pants.

He was two feet tall....the top of his head was the height of one of our tree stump stools. I got the distinct impression that he was doing something which I interrupted, I caught him by surprise, startled him...and that wasn't cool, and something told me to leave there quickly, so I turned around...I didn't run, but I walked very fast, trying to stay calm and quiet. I didn’t even go back to the cabin. I got in my truck and drove home. I was so freaked out I stopped at the store right before I got home. I got one of those small bottles of whiskey, like a pint, and poured the whole thing into a glass of Coke and drank it.”

Jim asked me who I thought the little man was, and what he was doing.
Like I was supposed to know! I told him I sure as hell don’t know. I’ve been doing some research, and in addition to the standard gnomes and faeries lore, I found some native American stuff about ‘little people’ that is quite interesting. I’ve also read some stories about construction crews in some Scandanavian locales actually re-routing highways so as not to disturb the little people. That’s wild!

Like the majority of ghost stories
, I think most of the stories about ‘little people’ are the result of over-active imaginations, but I believe these little people do exist. Maybe they live underground, or only in densely wooded areas. I also think they totally avoid humans.Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-62752917569187603162010-11-14T12:04:00.000-08:002010-11-14T12:07:49.847-08:00Tim Peelers Bigfoot (The Real Story)Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-85402661260087438612010-10-22T15:44:00.000-07:002010-10-22T15:45:18.827-07:00Fouke Monster- The Encounter with a BigfootYetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-24225744186260470682010-04-17T15:16:00.000-07:002010-04-17T15:17:12.456-07:00Garbage-Eating TrollIt was June 15, 2009, about 14 miles outside of Monroe, Louisiana, near a place called Rocky Branch, where I lived. My son and I were driving toward an old town called Farmerville to get a Coke, and we were using my mother's truck, the gas gauge of which didn't work too well. We ran out of gas. We got out of the truck and began walking back toward Rocky Branch, and in the meantime I called my husband to come pick us up as it was time for him to be getting off of work.

The sun was just starting to set, but not dark out yet. More like shadowy, but you could still see everything real good. Anyway, we knew that we had to walk about five miles to get home, and on the way we had to pass up these three huge garbage cans on the right side of the road, where all the locals hauled their own garbage to.

We were walking along, basically grouching about our predicament. As we passed the garbage cans, we got the shock of our lives. There was this thing that looked just like a freaking Troll out of a Dungeons and Dragons book! It was standing there eating out of the garbage can. It had a big, wide forehead, a long nose with wide nostrils, and a long, skinny chin. It had long white hair and big huge eyes. It had a large torso, but skinny arms and legs. When it saw us, it crouched between the garbage cans, as if it did not want to be seen.

My son took off running like a steak of lightening up the road, yelling "What the hell is that?" He was 17 at the time, and me, well I was right behind him. All I could think of was, "Please don't chase us, whatever you are." My son and I were running like champs and hoping that the thing wasn't mean and that it wasn't following us, because as we walked on it was getting darker and darker, and there were woods on both sides of us.

Finally, my husband came and picked us up along the road after I called him on my cell phone. This story is no joke. This really happened! All I know is, there are some strange beings out there that are as real as you and I are! Just how many, I don't know. But what I do know is that I'm not crazy and I don't do drugs. I don't even drink, to be honest. What I saw was absolutely beyond the shadow of a doubt, REAL!Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-14564416022275143712010-04-03T14:37:00.000-07:002010-04-03T14:40:53.585-07:00New rash of Bigfoot sightings reported across Fayette County, PAIs it the power of the pen, the power of suggestion or the promise of anonymity that produced the latest rash of reports of Bigfoot sightings in Fayette County?

An article about a Bigfoot sighting north of Uniontown by a woman who wished to remain anonymous was published in August. Her account was investigated by members of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society and researcher Stan Gordon of Greensburg, perhaps best known for his investigation into an alleged 1965 UFO crash in Kecksburg in Westmoreland County.

Following the publication of the article, Eric Altman, director of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society, reports that he has received phone calls about eight additional Bigfoot sightings in Fayette County, four of which were clustered around Dunbar.

"We also had a fifth second-hand report of a teen boy who is alleged to have seen a creature following him through the woods in the Dunbar area while he rode his quad," said Altman, 39, of Jeannette. "The boy is said to be so shook up by the incident that he doesn't want to be interviewed and was so frightened he won't go back to the area."

Altman claims that Fayette County seems to be quite an active area for Bigfoot sightings, based on the inordinate number of calls he has received over the past six months. Besides the Dunbar sightings, two have been reported in the Jumonville area, one in Confluence and one in Connellsville.

"Since the name of the witness in the newspaper account was kept confidential, I feel that people experiencing the same phenomena are now more comfortable and are coming forth to tell their stories," he said

When conducting his research, Altman first interviews the witness on the phone, claiming that, over the years, he has become quite adept at determining if they're telling the truth. After trying to get as much information as he can, he then sets up a face-to-face meeting, preferably at the location of the sighting.

"In a person-to-person meeting, I can read a lot from a witness' body language, eye contact and facial expressions," he said.

The latest sighting report came from Heath Landman of Dunbar, who said he doesn't mind revealing his identity and claims he and his son, Heath Nickolas Jr., 20, saw "something" crossing the road in front of them about 35 to 40 yards away as they were driving on Ferguson Road in Dunbar at 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31.

"The creature was walking at a fast pace on two feet, stood about 6 feet 3 inches tall and had a cone-shaped head," said Landman. "It was moving at a good clip without running, got across the road in three steps, then headed up an embankment and into a thicket. The next thing I knew, I heard my son say, "My god, Dad, what was that?"

In a state of shock, Landman turned his car around, headed for home and called his three brothers on the phone. They, along with two nephews, later went with the Landmans to the site where the creature was spotted. After exploring the area, one brother found pieces of hair stuck on brier and a nephew took photos of footprints in the snow, which were shown to Altman during his subsequent investigation.

"The hair found at the site is now protected in a container," said Altman. "We have contacts across the country who can conduct lab tests to try to match the hair to that of known species. We can also do DNA tests on the sample."

Another incident took place on Sept. 23 in the mountains near Dunbar. A mother and daughter out for a drive stopped at a pipeline to take in the view and heard a rustling noise in the brush below. Thinking it might be a bear or a deer, they later saw that it was an upright creature, very muscular and tall, Altman recounted.

"They reported that the creature got to within 150 feet, and just walked away without looking at them or threatening them in any way," said Altman, who met with the witnesses the following morning. "While hiking around the vicinity of the sighting, we discovered a large 19-inch, foot-shaped impression in very hard ground and an area where the brush had been trampled underfoot." While investigating yet another sighting report in the Dunbar area, Altman discovered a deer kill that had been eaten away until only the head and hide remained, as well as a 3-by-10-foot lean-to type structure in the area.

One unusual sighting at the end of July involved a woman who claims to have spotted two creatures just outside Dunbar - one a smaller one eating on some blackberries and a much larger one estimated to be about 10 feet tall. "There have been several reports of multiple sightings in other parts of the state," said Altman. "Many claim that the creatures have large dark eyes and range in size from 7 to 10 feet, are muscular and bulky and have a variety of hair color."

With the recent snowfall, Altman is hoping that people in the area come across unusual or revelatory footprints. Since the recent snowfall, members of the Bigfoot Society have gone back to sighting areas in search of footprints five or six times -- but have found no additional evidence.

"We encourage anyone who's experienced a Bigfoot sighting or who has information on the subject to phone us at 724-516-6344 or file a sighting report on our Web site www.pabigfootsociety.com," said Altman. "We keep the names and personal information of witnesses confidential and promise to take their reports seriously."

SourceYetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-46250446823435285022010-02-06T05:16:00.000-08:002010-02-06T05:17:04.113-08:00Lake Ariel ElfOn October 12th, 2009 in Lake Ariel Pennsylvania, a strange incident occurred. I enjoy building little forts in the woods near my house, and I was gathering straight, four-foot-long branches, which are hard to come by. I had gathered about 15 of them, then it was time to go inside to do my homework (it was 4:00 p.m.). I piled the branches neatly in a stack in the middle of a clearing in the woods. I walked to the house and began my homework on the patio.

Once I was finished, I went inside to watch my favorite daily cartoon on TV. At 6:30, the show finished and I got bored. I went on my computer and heard a rustling in a few leaf piles outside my open window. I excused it as one of several of my outdoor cats, and went on with my computer time. At 7:00 I ate my supper and watched the news. I went to bed to read at 9:30 after folding some laundry. I fell asleep at 10:30 and woke up at 8:00 a.m.

I ate my breakfast at 8:15 and watched a cartoon at. At 9:00 it finished so I got dressed and went outside. I had my binoculars for bird watching, and a notebook and pencil to record the birds I saw. I noticed the leaf piles were scattered around the yard and they had to be re-raked. I ignored the fact that more helping my mom rake the yard was coming, and I set straight out to the woods.

I came to work on my branch pile, and saw that about 50 branches, perfectly 4 inches around, and four feet across, had been placed there. I gasped, wondering who found these perfectly straight branches. I was planning on extending my ground bird-watching fort as I hauled several branches at a time to my site. Once I had updated my fort, I sat on the old rickety swing set and read for an hour. I walked around the front of the house for 15 minutes, just poking around ant hills and messing around with grasshoppers.

I came to the backyard to go back to my fort when I saw at my stick piling site, believe it or not, a little human-like creature! It freaked me out just looking at it. I noticed it was piling sticks in the piling site for me -- those perfect, four-inch-around and four-foot-across sticks. The perfectly straight ones. The ones without fault. The little man was climbing trees and snapping out branches. I gasped as it nimbly hopped out of trees and dropped sticks onto the pile.

He was about four feet tall with a hunch in his back and brown hair all over. All I could make out of it is that it was creepy. He had such long hair that it covered everything on its body. Its hands had no hair and they were white. I saw no visible nose, but black beady eyes. He walked like a monkey. I freaked out and stood rooted to the spot. Suddenly, my legs felt ice cold and I ran away, trembling. As I ran, my legs heated up and felt like they were on fire.

When I was in the house with my shade and window closed, all doors locked and shutters closed, I relaxed in my room, cuddling my big golden retriever, Sudsy. We both fell asleep, but we both woke up to the rustling of leaves outside. I cracked open my shutter the tiniest bit and saw the scary human-like creature racing through the leaves, bouncing up and down, and speeding around in circles. It took handsful of leaves and threw them in the air as it danced under the decaying shower. Sudsy growled and the animal stopped dancing, rooted to its spot. It looked shame-faced at the messed up leaf piles and slouched away. My eyes followed its progress as it made its way to the woods. It hopped nimbly into the trees and gathered sticks (presumably for me). It laid them in pile and, suddenly noticing me, it straightened up and grinned at me with crooked, rounded, stubby teeth. It waved its left foot at me, as if it was a greeting, then left, disappearing into the treetops.

For the next few days, it left me sticks until my mother screamed at the sight of my helper. I had started leaving him grapefruit halves, which he ate gratefully, but after the screaming, he peeped through my shutters and then never returned. I have always remembered this unusual creature finding the perfect sticks, but never had Shingle (which I named him) return again. Although Sudsy finds Shingle's footprints in various places in the mud, I have never, ever seen my woods buddy ever again. (Although I occasionally leave out grapefruit, hoping Shingle may one day return.)Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-20537481417810824462010-02-03T16:43:00.000-08:002018-06-05T17:08:28.504-07:00The Woods Helper

I am in a hurry to write something about a thing I saw in plain daylight on Friday, November 20, 2009 in rural Banks County, Georgia a short ways off of State Route 51 and about two miles north of the tiny village of Mount Pleasant, Georgia. What I saw up there in the woods was strange enough to write you here about it. The details are very fresh in my mind.

My job is to sell low-cost homeowner's insurance in rural counties. Usually, these customers only have rough cabins with wood fire heating (which runs up insurance costs) and cannot be insured by the major companies. My own company takes up this slack.

I arrived on a sunny morning at a very modest cabin in Banks County. It was at the end of a dirt road behind a small stand of trees. Much of the area is forested. I was greeted by a very old woman who told me that she lived alone, but would like to take out a policy on her cabin. I needed to inspect the place and take some pictures, as is routine before offering a contract.

I was walking around to the shed outside when I saw a totally hairy and muscular biped of some sort stacking wood. This thing wore no clothes, but had very long hair covering its entire body. It had a black nose and very large eyes and a mouth very much like a human being, but not quite. It was hard at work stacking wood and did not seem to notice me. I should also mention that it was no bigger than around 3-foot, 5-inches tall, if even that. It was, however, very plump and wide. It made a grunting sound as it worked. It seemed very strong.

I asked the lady what on earth it was, and she casually replied that it was a "woods helper" and that many of the county's old-timer residents had one from time to time to help them with tasks that they were too old to handle. These "woods helpers" only asked for food and some drink. The woman also explained to me that they drank only beer and never seemed to be drunk or disorderly. She said they had been a blessing since long ago to many of the older people in the area. She did not know what species they were. In fact, she did not even understand the word "species," which is not unusual for rural people like her. She said that everybody knew about them, but that not many people liked to talk about them.

I got one more look at the thing before I drove off. It was moving rocks into a runoff ditch this time. It looked like something from a sci-fi magazine or even a comic book. But it was real.
"I heard a large animal moving towards us," Davies writes. "Subsequently the creature was then sighted by team member Dave Archer and Sahar Didmus, a forest ranger. Dave describes the OP [orang pendek] as looking almost chimpanzee-like." Tracks have been found as well as hair samples, which were taken for analysis. There were 15 adults: 12 participants, 2 park service employees to drive van and assist, plus Tyler Nordgren, PhD astronomer and artist, teaching the workshop. After an introduction and instructions, we all set up our cameras on the edge of Eagle Lake, most of us aiming southwest hoping to capture the Milky Way as the evening progressed. (The workshop was scheduled from 6:30-9:00pm ET.)At approximately 7:50pm ET, we all observed a bright object that appeared suddenly directly in front of us. It seemed to come down in the sky, burn brightly creating a cone of light shining towards the ground much like a streetlight and fog-like light around it. the "streetlight" did not make it the ground. After a few seconds, the object disappeared. The fog and "streetlight" slowly disappeared after about 45 seconds. It just seemed to fade from the cone shape to a smudge in the sky.At least 3 participants' cameras captured the event. Not knowing where else to share such an event, we are posting it here.

Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-87282562371608798842009-09-21T18:23:00.000-07:002009-09-21T18:27:56.282-07:00Large handprint spooks North Carolina family ENNICE, N.C. -- When Joye Edwards walked out of her Ennice, N.C. home and saw the giant, dirty handprint on the back of her vehicle, the first thing she felt was anger.
She’d just spent the prior evening washing and polishing the blue Jeep to a sparkling shine.
As she got closer to the vehicle though, her anger quickly turned to confusion, fascination and fright.
About 10 inches in length, the handprint seemed to dwarf the taillight of her car.
She knew that something had put the handprint there overnight because the vehicle had been spotless just hours before.
She had left her bedroom windows open that night and recalled hearing her dog barking wildly, but just assumed her Collie had spotted a cat, opossum, or some other unwelcome critter.
But now, she had an eerie feeling. “The first thing I thought was that it had to be a bear,” she said. “But it doesn’t look like any bear print my husband and I have ever seen.”
The print didn’t reveal any claw prints or marks, just a palm, fingers and thumb.
Another odd detail was that the print was left behind in what appeared to be creek sand, not dirt or mud.
Did someone try to pull a prank?
The Edwards family has a quarter-mile long driveway, which leads to their large, wooded farm, and lives about a mile from a main road. “If someone was trying to make a joke, then they sure went to a lot of trouble,” she said.
When she showed family members the mysterious print, they gawked and told her it was “Sasquatch.”
“They were serious,” she said.
“Sasquatch” is an alleged ape-like creature, inhabiting densely forested areas. Most U.S. reports come from the Pacific Northwest, though there are websites dedicated to Bigfoot sightings in Virginia and North Carolina, particularly in the Blue Ridge Mountains and along the Appalachian Trail.
Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, ape-like creature on two legs. By all accounts, many people believe in its existence and contend that the same or similar creatures are found around the world under different regional names.
The scientific community considers Bigfoot to be a combination of folklore, misidentification (usually a bear), and hoaxes, rather than an actual creature.
The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries doesn’t keep track of bear sightings in the area because they are so common, though the department does keep track of bear-related nuisance complaints. In 2007, there were two nuisance bear complaints in Grayson County, and in 2008 there were six, said Julia Dixon, a media relations coordinator for the department.
As for Bigfoot sightings, “We have never had officers investigating Bigfoot as part of their work for the department,” Dixon said in an email.
The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission has not yet responded to the newspaper’s questions about bear or Bigfoot sightings in Alleghany County.
Edwards admits she isn’t sure what left that strange, giant handprint on her car. The family hasn’t seen or heard anything strange since the incident, “but I’m keeping my windows shut from now on,” she said. “Just in case.”

Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-3527024405489650362009-09-21T17:57:00.000-07:002009-09-21T18:01:16.589-07:00Possible Bigfoot at Mountian Island In Madison CountyWhile camping out at Mountian Island at the French Broad River in Madison Co. I had an iteresting night. At the time I new nothing of bigfoot, I got intreaged about the subject after visiting a website an playing the recordings. What got my attention was the tree knocking. I have heard this on numerous occations while on that section of river and vagely wondered who was up on the side of the mountain banging on a tree. I thought maybe someone was setting up a deerstand or something. Anyway just after sunset I hear loud splashes in the river, thought it might be big beavers or something ,the splashes were huge! Later on something kept walking around my campsite never did see anything and wasnt to worried as Iwas heavly armed. This island is very remote and surrounded by whitewater on both sides. About 3am a ground shaking thud woke me up, I got out of the tent and looked around but it was pitch black out there. I got spooked then. I thought maybe a rock fell of the small cliff back where Iwas camped out. Just befor daylight I heard what sounded like a tree being twisted apart, I got out of the tent and emptied a thirty round clip in the air, never heard anything else or saw any body except for other boaters the rest of the weekend..

By GARY C.Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-89724942121620253792009-09-15T16:54:00.000-07:002010-02-06T05:23:33.722-08:00Young boy startles Creature under house porch<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kXKBXRbY8P8/S21tN_DmACI/AAAAAAAAAwE/4TOQFJEaZ_0/s400/049.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5435120412338290722" />
YEAR: 1971 or 72
SEASON: Unknown
DATE: Unknown
STATE: North Carolina
COUNTY: Yadkin County
LOCATION DETAILS: Take I-77 to US 421 S. in HamptonvilleGet off at the Asbury Church Road Exit, turn right.Go straight through the intersection. (This is Asbury Church Road). Turn onto the first road on the left (not sure of the name of this road...maybe Flat Rock Church Road). Go to the end of this road, passing Flat Rock Baptist Church on the left. At the end of this road, take a right. I think that this road is called Hamptonville Road. Go about 2 to 3 tenths of a mile. On the right, there is a very small wooden house sitting down in the middle of what looks like a field. This is where the sighting occurred.

NEAREST TOWN: Hamptonville

NEAREST ROAD: Highway 21

OBSERVED: It was in 1971. Maybe 1972...roughly there about. I had just finished eating breakfast. My mother asked me to go and empty the leftovers for our dogs. I went to the side porch, which was about 4 feet off the ground, and saw a tuft of off-white fur sticking out from under the porch. Thinking it was our dog, Whitey, I tried to dump the breakfast scraps on him. I missed by a couple of feet. I then turned around to go back in when I heard a scuffling sound. Thinking it was our dog eating the scraps, I turned back around to see. But instead I saw a creature that was taller than me, and I was standing on the porch. It had to be at least 7 feet tall, covered in an off-white fur - except for an oval around the face. Unfortunately, I don't remember what its face looked like. Its arms hung almost down to its knees. I dropped the frying pan, and tried to scream. Nothing came out. The animal turned back to look at me as it was loping in slow motion around the side of the house.

ALSO NOTICED: It seemed to me that perhaps the animal was under the porch to take a nap in the cool shade that the porch provided.

OTHER WITNESSES: Unfortunately, just me.

OTHER STORIES: I heard a woman who lived in a mobile home near where my sighting occurred, had discovered a dent in one of the corners of her mobile home. They said it was halfway up the corner, and that whatever it was, it had to be fairly tall. They also said that they saw a few strands of hair stuck into the siding. When I asked them what color the hair was, they said it was white. Of course this story was shared with me after I had first told them my story, so I cannot vouch for the validity of the story.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was just after I finished breakfast. Maybe around 8 or 9 am. It was pretty bright...enough to cause shadows. I believe that it was in the fall, but I am not sure.

ENVIRONMENT: There is a lot of woods (mostly pine) around the back of the house. Or there was at least at the time of the sighting.

Resource: BFROYetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-79408684861989866462009-09-09T15:14:00.000-07:002009-09-09T15:20:57.664-07:00McDowell man: "Bigfoot among us"Tom Burnette is a man with a mission. He found his life's calling unlooked for almost 20 years ago in the woods near Old Fort. That's when he encountered Bigfoot. Many people over the years have seen what they believed to be sightings or physical evidence of Bigfoot. But Burnette is different in one respect. The creature he saw came back. And, as it turned out, there was more than one. Indeed, he now believes, there's a whole colony of them.Where, exactly? He's a bit guarded about exact locations, but said he sees the creatures "way up Curtis Creek, near the Parkway."What brings them back, again and again, to the woods Burnette haunts? He has several guesses.

For one, he believes a large community of them have lived in the area for a ling time. And because their home territory coincides with the woods he haunts, they have become familiar with him.In other words, he has made peace with them. Although he says he has not come face to face with the reclusive creatures, he has found what he believed to be gifts left for him; mushrooms, meat, and other items harvested from the woods."They know I'm not out to hurt them, that I'll protect them," he said. "They're used to me now." That familiarity has led to several opportunities to observe them, at a distance, for more than just a few seconds, he said.

So how is it that more people haven't seen them? Simply, he answered, because people tend to think of Bigfoot as a dumb beast, no smarter than a bear. In fact, the Bigfoot culture is well developed and they are highly intelligent creatures."They're more aware of you than you are of them," he said. "These are very alert creatures.

"After years of observation, Burnette believes the Bigfoot domesticates the wild animals of the forest the same way humans domesticated dogs, and for the same reasons."They use bear to hunt," he explained. "They hunt in groups." Earlier this spring, Burnette got what he believes is confirmation of this theory, when he came very close to a hunting party accidentally.

"I felt sure something was watching me," he said of one day's excursion into the woods. "I turned around and felt eyes on me." He didn't see anything out of the ordinary, he explained, but long years of romping the woods has taught him the limitations of the human eye in the dense foliage.

He raised his cell phone and took pictures of the woods in front of him. It was only after he had detail shots printed at maximum enlargement that he saw the evidence he had in hand.

One eerie picture shows what appears distinctly to be a humanoid face, with flat, wide mouth and heavy brows. The face's left are the shapes of what could be faces of bears or other beasts.

Burnette was chilled to think he had come so close to a hunting party, but said that, by this time, if the Bigfoot had wanted to hurt him they could have done so. The fact he has remained unharmed is evidence, he said, that the Bigfoot mainly hunts small game.

This latest close encounter is not the first. Several years ago, he continued, he found what he believed to be an infant Bigfoot left on his property. Why would a mother Bigfoot abandon her baby?

Burnette suspects that the baby may have been in danger from a male. He said in the primate kingdom, a male will sometimes kill an infant in order to get the female to go into heat. Holding the infant, he made what he now regards as a great mistake.

"I took it back into the woods," he said, "and left it, hoping she would come back for it." Sadly this did not happen. Days later, he found the skull of the young creature; whether it had been eaten by dogs or killed by an adult Bigfoot, he didn't dare speculate.

He explained that he realized this was the evidence the world had been waiting for. He photographed the skull, then sent it to Texas laboratory for DNA analysis. Today, he is upset about the lab's progress, and speculated he might have to go to court to get the thing back into his possession.

Meanwhile though, two pictures he shot of the skull are featured in the book he published a while back about his observations. Entitled "Natures Secret Agents," the book is a diary account of his experiences and observations over the years. Many sightings are detailed, along with the occasional exchange of gifts and, sometimes, terrifying harassment by less friendly members of the Bigfoot community.

Burnette has learned to keep his distance. He tries to get the best photographs he can, but does not ever wish to put them on the defensive. The size, strength and cunning of the creatures means no human would stand a chance. He feels safe so long as he maintains a healthy respect for the Bigfoots' privacy and space.

He said that several years ago an Indian chief told him the Bigfoot is the guardian of the forest and all the animals in it. After several years observation, he is inclined to agree.

"They don't want anything to do with us," he said, because they know the violent ways of Man. "I want to share what I have learned so that we can understand them, not fear them, and respect them and their home."Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-40899541663342515972009-08-19T17:00:00.000-07:002017-08-04T17:14:59.640-07:00Daytime Sightning on the Yadkin RiverLOCATION DETAILS: 40 east ext 163 Cool spring exit. left on hwy 64 go under 40 and first rd on left. go roughly 1 mile or mile and 1/4 . pass over yadkin river immediate right under bridges that 40 runs over. OBSERVED: The only thing about my sighting I’m not 100% sure of is the month. and distances and Heights but I feel I’m pretty close. On or around July or August of 1992 I was working at a Chinese Restaurant in town. I was supposed to be heading for work, but had made my mind up earlier that I was going to layout. So that I wouldn’t be caught by my Grandparents and or Father for being a slacker I needed a place to hide/something to do. Well not having any money I chose a place that A. gave me cover and B. gave me a place to kick around and explore. Near where we use to live (and still near today) near the Yadkin River they use to hold Tractor pulls, singings (John Anderson sang there once before he made it big) etc. It had gone out of business quite a few years back but there were still some dilapidated buildings still standing and some bleachers. I parked my car underneath the bridges that the interstate ran across and hopped over the DO NOT ENTER signed cable barrier. I followed the dirt path that led to the remains of what was once called ‘The River Run. The path ran parallel to the river, but turned away from it roughly two hundred yards from where I hopped the cable. I reached the Remains and kicked around, I looked in the old Bathrooms (basically a Pee stall) checked under the bleachers for change or dollar bills that may still be there, of course there wasn’t any. And little did I know before I got there that a crane they had recently (couple months) been using to dig out sand from the river (for what I do not know) was still there. I of course looked it over, crawled in the cab, looked for keys etc. Well, not only was I getting BORED quickly, it was getting hot. It was a hot summer and having been indoors WORKING, like a good boy the whole summer until then, I hadn’t realized how hot it got at around 11:00 am. So I decide that there had to be a better place to chill. I headed back down dirt path. The areas that the Buildings were located were Roughly one hundred and fifty yards away from the river. As I was heading back I noticed something that appeared to be sitting on the riverbank; I first assumed it was a dog. I whistled, yelled here Boy and all that and it didn’t respond. As I got closer I realized it wasn’t a dog and felt stupid, cause there were weeds and such growing at the bank and I just figured I was Whistling for WEEDS to come to me. As I got closer and closer it appeared to be a very Unkempt, long haired hippy of a man. But the Funny thing was I could only see the Bust of him (chest to top of head) so then I just assumed it was a Bum standing on a ledge in the river looking over the bank watching me. So I kept walking, actually strutting to let this Bum know if he tried to mess with me, he was going to get his ars whipped, but good. As I kept walking and not paying any attention to the Bum a strange sensation came over me (to this day I can’t explain it) I looked up and that’s when I realized it wasn’t a bum, it was something else, what, I do not know but it wasn’t human. At this point I was roughly 50 yards away, my mind was racing and my heart was beating, here I was almost face to face with a Big foot? So I did the only rational thing I could think of at the time, I ran towards. I know that, that doesn’t seem to be the brightest thing to have done BUT in my mind and with the MILLION things running through it the one thing that didn’t go through my mind was fear, NOT one ounce. Until…I was, at this point, roughly forty yards away and the closer I got, the doubts, if any that this THING was not human was completely gone. At about some thirty yards away I took my eye of it for just and I mean JUST a split second and it was gone and that is when fear struck me. I halted quickly. I dare say now I was 25 yards away from where IT was. I was petrified, I stood there for what seemed like hours, while I was standing there it was the first time that I really had the chance to reflect on what I just saw, and all I can remember thinking was. A. Why did it look like Chewbacca from Star Wars minus the black nose? B. Why did it have very light fur almost dirty strawberry blonde? C. Why no smell, don’t they always stink? D.Why did I wuss out and get scared? I finally Talked myself out of being a big wimp and decided that if it was what I think it was I need proof. I BABY stepped looking left and right as quickly as my neck could turn the whole time I was walking to the river bank. I reached the River bank and scanned the River and River bank like my life depended on it. I roughly stood there for 15 minutes looking at the Highest point to where IT could have been standing looking over the River bank at me. I looked for tracks but all I found was sand slid into the river, I looked for hair and nothing. I even sniffed around and couldn’t smell anything but what smelt like fish. I then jumped to the highest point to try a gauge how tall IT was. I’m 6’2 and have a reach of 7’6 and I had to bounce a little (not a hard jump) but bounce nonetheless for the tips of my fingers to be even with the River bank from the highest point IT could have possibly be standing. I know I had to bounce at least 6 inches(any more and I’m sure I would have slid into the water, so that puts the river bank height roughly 8 feet and I was seeing IT”S Bust so IT was (and it’s a guess) roughly 9’3 –9’5 or more . I finally climbed out of the riverbank, walked to my car peering and alert to anything jumping out, but nothing eventful happened. Got in my car drove home, no one ever asked me if I laid out of work cause no one EVEN NOTICED!!! Needless to say I never laid out of work again., well not without a good reason.
Around the bend on that scenic river, the 50-year-old man discovered, was the dwelling place of creatures that he once regarded as belonging only to the world of storybooks and magic. But now, with his own eyes, he saw that they were real. This is Steve W.'s true story:

On June 24, 2003, I went canoeing in Western Kentucky on the Rough River. I had just wanted to get away for a little rest and relaxation, away from my normally hectic life. I put my canoe in at a nice little portage near the Falls of Rough, just downstream of the falls, which is not too far from Rough River State Park. The current was very fast because of all the recent rainfall. It was really just a typical canoe ride down a very pleasant and scenic river.
I had a very funny, queasy, nervous feeling though. I was inexplicably anxious for some reason. Although I could not define why, I felt like I had something to fear - and I sensed death. Taking these sensations seriously, I was extremely cautious on the river because I didn't want the death to be mine.
After several miles, I paddled the canoe to the riverbank and tied off to a tree. I got out to stretch and to explore the area. I climbed the bank and looked for a smooth, dry spot to pitch my tent. After deciding to camp near the water so I could keep a good eye on the canoe, I went on a little hike. I climbed up the hill and around the bend to a little creek that flowed back into Rough River.
Looking down eight or 10 feet into the creek, I spotted what looked like the top of a clay jar. I instantly recalled a dream in which I found some ancient pots. This recollection sent my imagination running wild with the thought that I might have found some old archaeological artifact.
I started down the bank toward the creek. The bank was extremely slippery with mud and down I went, sliding all the way. My backside and hands were caked with gooey mud, but I stopped just short of the water and very close to the old earthenware pot. It was more like a clay crock and I quickly realized that it probably wasn't very old and that the bottom was probably broken as well.
I poked at it and noticed there were little handprints on it. I figured a raccoon had already searched it, but upon looking more closely saw that these prints were not like a raccoon's; they were more like little human handprints, about an inch wide.
As soon as that thought entered my mind I dismissed it as preposterous. I started pulling on the jar, but it was stuck really well in the mud with suction holding it down like super glue. I figured, well I'm all dirty anyway; I'll just get a stick and pry this thing loose. After working on it for a while, it finally budged.
But when it did, I heard something.

I heard what sounded like little kids laughing. It was coming from down the creek several yards away... in the bank somewhere. When I at last managed to pull the crock jar out of the mud, something screamed! It sounded like a little girl - really high-pitched and loud! Man, I was scared. Who or what could it be?
Not knowing exactly what to do, I grabbed the jar and began to scramble up that muddy bank. Glancing back, I saw something move down near the creek. Now I was freaking out! I made it back up the bank and set the stoneware jug down. It was just a cylinder about 14 inches tall and 12 inches in diameter. It had a little rim about an inch down from the top. It was dark brown on the outside and light brown on the inside. It guessed it weighed about five pounds. And, yes, it did have little handprints on it - that wasn't my imagination.
I sat at the top of the bank for a moment looking at the jar, trying to reason away the handprints. It's no big deal, I finally decided, compared to that scream and those voices. Leaving the jar for the moment, I walked along the creek aways and stopped every once in a while to peek through the bushes and see if anybody was there. That's when I got the shock of my life!
When I looked over that bank I saw two little people standing about 10 inches tall. As incredible as that sounds, I'm not kidding! They had pale skin, little brown leather pants held up by suspenders, no shirts and little pointy hats made of what looked like leather. They had leather foot coverings that went up past the ankle. Their hair was a reddish color and their eyes blue. Their hands were only about an inch wide!
They knew I was watching, but they continued their task: they were pulling some kind of wooden stump down that muddy creek bank with long leather ropes or strings. These little men were surprisingly clean, I remember thinking, for the work they were doing. Then I heard a thump back where I first went in the creek. I looked back and there were three more of them - men just like the first two - and they had pushed that crock jar back down the bank. They were all laughing - high-pitched laughter, like a bunch of kids.
Then I heard a loud snap… and they were all gone. Their footprints were plainly visible in the mud, but they were gone along with the crock jar and the wooden stump. They had vanished in a split second.

My heart was racing and I struggled to catch my breath. I was feeling pretty insane! How am I going to tell anyone about this? Yet that's exactly what I decided to do. I walked almost two miles back to the old mill by the falls where I started. (The stream was too fast to try to paddle the canoe back upstream.) I had my cell phone with me, but it was just one of those emergency ones that I was going to use to call my girlfriend when I was ready to come home and she could come get me and the canoe.
At the falls, I spotted a man in a pickup truck, whom I assumed worked for the golf course they were building there. I told him I needed a witness to what I had just seen. I didn't expect him to believe me just from my story, but I thought perhaps I could get him to at least come look. He told me to quit smokin' that stuff. I practically pleaded with him to get someone else and we'd go down there together and I would show them. He flatly refused, saying I was crazy and that he wasn't going anywhere with me.
Nearby was a cable TV repair truck; the repairman told me get away from him, too. I suspected that the guy in the pickup called the repairman on a CB radio or cell phone and told him he thought I was crazy. Between what I had seen and the reactions of these two guys, I was starting to feel a bit paranoid. I started to think: they'll call the police and have me arrested, and I sure don't need that.
I gave up on those two and decided to walk back downstream to the ditch where it all happened. I just had to look again. When I got there - I cannot explain it - it wasn't the same. There were no footprints, no sign of the little people at all. Where I slid down the bank was as clean as a whistle - no skid marks. The mud looked completely undisturbed. I was and still am absolutely positive that was the exact spot where it all took place. But there was no sign of anything.
I loaded up my gear in the canoe and got the hell out of there. About 20 miles downstream, I camped out in a hay field. That night as I lay in my tent, all of the strangeness and impossibility went through my mind of the strangest camping trip I ever had. I just could not get those little people out of my mind. They knew I was watching them, but for a little while they didn't care… and then they vanished. In my mind I can still hear them... like little kids on a playground, laughing, screaming, playing.
Was it real? Am I crazy? They were real. When I told my girlfriend the whole story, she just laughed and told me of the time she had seen a little green man under the lilac bush at her grandmother's house when she was little. She had no problem with it. Well, it's a big deal to me because I have to live with knowing what I experienced. It was just too strange! Little people - indeed!

Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-50240831435787666562009-07-07T17:10:00.000-07:002009-07-07T17:11:35.679-07:00Missing Time and Out of PlaceI was leaving my driveway to drive one mile to town. There were woods and few houses along the way. I had just pulled out and there was a thick fog rolling in. Very creepy at night. I had only gone a half a block at most very slowly when I saw a very bright light through the fog. This was very strange since there was nothing near my house.
As I drove closer, I saw a Phillips 66 gas station. It wasn't there the day before. I pulled into it in shock and a man came out. I asked him how a gas station could have been built so fast and he looked at me strangely. He said it had been there for eight years.
I asked him where I was and when he told me I began to shake uncontrollaby. I was 300 miles from home! I looked at the clock and I had left my driveway only two minutes before. It took all night to drive home and I shook most of the way.

Bt CherYetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-54971423488144695432009-07-07T17:05:00.000-07:002009-07-07T17:06:56.587-07:00Slip Back in TimeIt all started back in 1999 when I was 19, I had an experience that I can't explain that freaks me out to this day.
My girlfriend and I went up to Poughkeepsie, New York on a trip to visit her sick uncle, a man nick-named Floyd due to his profession as a barber (Mayberry reference) although he also was an avid biker. He had lupus and about a thousand other ailments, it seemed.
He lived on a large tract of land that included nature trails that seemed to go back for miles on up into the woods. One morning after breakfast, Cindi (my ex now) and I decided after breakfast to head out to a location that she remembered going to when she was a kid visiting. She called it the big Indian rock, which she said looked like a profile of an Indian chief.
So at around 10:30 or 11:00 or so, we headed up there. It was a long way up into the woods, but Cindi, after getting some directions, seemed really confident, having not been there in years. But after a while, I was almost sure she was lost, but she saw something that she recognized and headed off into that direction. It was this large white rock with a fort into the side of it like a kids' fort or something. Her exact words were, "Oh my god, I remember this place..." and then began to tell me how she and her friends, a bunch of boys who lived nearby, had built this one afternoon and was totally surprised to see it after all this time.
This was at least 10 years later and this poorly constructed fort was still there, which I thought fascinating too at the time. The fort consisted of a low lean-to almost like a box made of rotted plywood scraps. It sat to the side of the huge white rock and had a bundle of dirty camping gear inside of it, sleeping bags and other dirty junk and leaves, cobwebs, etc. Cindi went up to the entrance of the low-to-the-ground fort and looked in at it as I jumped up on the top of the white rock to have a seat.
I looked over to where Cindi was and she had disappeared from view. At first I thought she maybe crawled inside, but on more careful observation, this wasn't the case at all. I turned to see whether perhaps she had gone around the other side of the huge rock and when I turned I saw two little freckle-faced boys, one taller than the other and staring at me. One wore a ball cap on backward and the other in a dirty flannel jacket. They just stared at me eerily and then suddenly It just seemed like time slipped and suddenly I was walking up a wooded path towards a clearing, and there was Cindi telling me to hurry up and come on.
I stepped into the clearing and there was a side of a big rock with, yes a profile of a face or something, really quite unimpressive, but I suppose it had sentimental value with her. I was still in a daze but I just snapped to and met up with her.
My first question to her was who were those two boys and no doubt she responded, "What are you talking about? What boys?" I said "At the rock..." she just punched me in the arm and began to point out the face in the rocks and then told me how she was a tom-boy and used to ride BMX bikes back there and other such memory lane kinds of stuff.
After a few minutes we headed back to Floyd's place and we were greeted by Cindi's mother who had just arrived. I met her mother and she seemed nice and hung out at Floyd's and had a few beers with him, even though he complained that it didn't mix well with his medication.
So after a while, Cindi came in and we all got to talking and the fort came up and she asked about some kids she knew in the area and if they were still around or whatever happened to, yada, yada kind of thing. Floyd got real dark when Cindi mentioned the "Moriarty" kids and went into a morose story and got rather quiet.
He said to Cindi, "The two boys and their mother were killed by their father before he took his own life." (Having something to do with a divorce.)
When I heard this, my hair on the nape of my neck stood up as my spine tingled as I was not going to spend another night out there at Floyd's place. He went on to comfort her, telling her that they were in a better place, etc. I couldn't dare recount what happened to me at the fort. I just wanted to split out of there; this was too freaky.
I made up a story after calling my roommate back in Bayonne, telling them that I had to get back there and asked Cindi if she wanted to stay but she decided to come with me. While driving back, Cindi kept the two boys as a topic and said that they both had a crush on her. And once even fought over her, and man, that just made me drive faster. We made record time back to Jersey.
By Mr. torrenceYetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-59952725243890968252009-07-07T16:27:00.000-07:002009-07-07T16:30:38.057-07:00Little People of Olympic MountainsI realize that this story will not carry much weight as it is only third hand. I only come to know of it from a friend who is now deceased. Having read a few other similar accounts, however, I feel that this little story should be recorded for whatever it's worth.
My friend was raised in a small town called Clallam Bay, about as far northwest as you can get in the continental U.S., on the northwestern-most tip of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. His father was involved in work with the local Native American tribes there. Even today, this area is quite remote and only sparsely populated. There are still vast areas of the Olympic Mountains that rarely see humans. Mark, my friend, was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping and hiking. He grew up roaming the rain forests of the Olympics and was kind enough to take me on numerous camping trips.
I have always been intrigued by the legend of the Sasquatch and could not pass up asking Mark if he had ever had any encounters with one and what his thoughts were on the matter. He told me that he believed that they existed. He had never seen one, but he did recount one occasion when he was a short distance from his home, he heard long drawn-out sort of bellowing call that he could not attribute to any animal he knew of. He said that the sound was so loud that it seemed that the whole forest reverberated with it. It froze him in his tracks. He was familiar with the sounds of all of the known wildlife, including the elk, deer, cougars, etc. But this was something entirely different. He never did see what made the noise.
But, he said, Sasquatch may not be the only strange thing you might encounter in the Olympic forests. When I asked what he meant, he told me this story.
Mark said that his grandfather, a man with virtually no sense of humor, had told him of a strange experience he had had in the woods many years prior. Apparently, his grandfather was on an outing into the rain forest with his young wife and some other friends. The intent was to cut and gather wood for the fireplaces. A picnic lunch was planned as the work would take most of the day. While the women were setting out the food and before the actual wood cutting began, Mark's grandfather had wandered some little distance from the rest of the group when he encountered a group of little people darting around in the ferns. He guessed that there were at least five or six of them and that they were about 12 to 18 inches tall with rather dark skin. No sooner had he seen them though, than they were gone.
His grandfather was dumbfounded. He said that he didn't even tell the rest of the people, including his wife, what he had seen because he knew they would not believe him. He had wondered about it many times since, but there was never anything else to support what he was sure he had seen, so he just kept it to himself. He told Mark that that was the first time he had ever told anyone about it. Now, as I say, I am recounting this story third hand. It is only something that I have heard. But since neither Mark nor his grandfather are around any longer to tell the tale, I am passing it on for them. If nothing else, maybe it will reassure someone else that they are not crazy.
By GlennYetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-73556852876629349012009-06-13T11:56:00.000-07:002009-06-13T12:43:07.589-07:00In Search of the Elusive Summerwind: Investigating Wisconsin's Most Haunted House

Who: My husband and I
When: Summer of 2004
Where: Land O Lakes, WI (on the WI / MI border)
Why: To hopefully locate and visit the ruins of Summerwind.

The (Brief) Background Information

I have been interested in visiting Summerwind for years. Ever since I read a story of the events that occurred there in I believe it was Haunted Heartland. So, when I found out I'd be in the area of Summerwind I jumped at the chance to try to locate and investigate
there.

Summerwind has quite the reputation for the haunted Wisconsin area, it's said to have made a family go insane, to have made a man fire a gun at a ghost (the bullet holes would remain in the door for years afterward, until it was eventually stolen from the home). It also was said to be built over a deed that the ghost of a man named Carver is said to still look for in the afterlife. How much of this is fact and how much is legend is about anyone's guess. There's been theories that Carver never even ventured to that area of Wisconsin. And others yet say there were searches carried out for this deed and nothing was turned up.

Summerwind sat abandoned for years. It's reputation most likely the reasoning for it. Back in the day, it was a sprawling mansion and home to the secretary to president Hoover. Years after standing abandoned someone bought it. They had plans to fix it up and make it into a business. Apparently the spirits had other intentions. In 1988 Summerwind was struck by lighting in a storm and it burned to the ground. All that is left is a couple staircases, a foundation and a couple chimneys for the most part... and the spirits.

Finding Summerwind

Summerwind was incredibly difficult to find. It hides down a dirt road in the country wooded area of Land O Lakes on what is now private property. You pretty much need to know exactly where it is to locate it and even then it doesn't look like anything at all from the road. We, however got really lucky and managed to have someone guide us to it. If it wasn't for her, we would have come back without having found it like so many before us have done.
We stopped to a few places in town (the town is pretty bare - not too many places around to even ask at). We really didn't get too terribly far. We did get a bit of info to get us in the area of it, and then we were referred to stop at a camp for more information there.

We did exactly as instructed watching as the woods grew thicker around us. We knew we were in for an ordeal to locate it from the get go, but I don't think either of us knew just how hard it really would be to find. Well, we stopped at the camp and got out of the car. It was a quaint camp
at the edge of the lake with a small bar and restaurant onsite. My husband, Clint immediately recognized the camp from before. He said he'd dreamed of it before, but he had never been there or even in that area before then. He proceeded to say he thought Summerwind was behind us and to the left; you know, he was right about that.

We went inside and asked where Summerwind was. We figured the folks in there must have heard of it being so close to it and all. Well the one bartender didn't know it by name but once we said it was the haunted place she knew exactly where it was. She told us how to get there, and said if we have any trouble some back there. Well, we set off where she told us to go - or at least how we thought she told us to go. We were lost before we started. We also were afraid of getting so lost we would not find our way back out again. The woods were fairly thick and getting thicker. So, we drove back to the bar and informed her we were totally lost as to how to find it. She offered to take us there if we'd be willing to wait for her shift to end. We agreed.

Getting to Summerwind

We got to Summerwind easily with her, but I'm telling you we kept track of every turn so we knew how to get back out. It was much harder than we even imagined it'd be to find, but we found it. Even she had to check to make sure it was the right place once she stopped.

Summerwind is fairly large. It's in ultimate ruins and there's really not much left, as you can see in the photos. Even still I had vibes while there. My husband, who had vibes where it was and had a case of déjà vu at the camp felt nothing at all at Summerwind itself. I, however felt nothing at the camp but perhaps some anxiety if we'd even locate the place or not, but I had vibes at Summerwind itself.

The hot spots - or at least according to my vibes were under the arches which led out to the back yard which was a ledge that overlooked a river, and the staircase to the second floor. Not so coincidentally, I got some odd photos in each of those places. (I concentrate and take photos
where any odd vibes are felt). We weren't at Summerwind long. Maybe fifteen or twenty minutes or so. I came back with a camera full of 40 photos and so I thought nothing at all supernatural on any of them. Boy was I wrong.

Looking at the Photos

We went back to the cabin we were staying at and looked over the photos. We both looked over each one on the tiny LCD screen my camera was equipped with and found nothing. It was a bit disappointing what with all the vibes we got, but it's a chance you take when you investigate a place. More times than not you get ordinary photos. It's just the way it is.

We late loaded them into our PC and then looked at them again larger. A friend noted the ball of light under the arch which we originally thought was a sun spot - until we realized that was much brighter than all of the other sunspots on the ruins. Not to mention a sunspot can't reach under a dark arch and usually isn't glowing like this light was. Then, my mom noticed a man staring back at her from one of the photos. He jumped right out at her. It took me a long time to see him but when I did a shiver ran the length of my spine. To see those eyes looking back at me.. it was a feeling I won't soon forget. The detail in the man is astounding. You can see the difference between the color of his skin and his shirt. You can nearly make out facial features and a vague hairstyle. Who he is, we may never know. I did try to locate photos of the previous residents of Summerwind. The best I was able to come up with was a photo of Robert Lamont in his older years. Even still the man did not match the face I saw in Lamont. After that we located the critter we originally thought to be a fox-like creature sitting by the fireplace of the left chimney. He's a bit difficult to see but if you look you can see 'em in there. (It's easier to see it from further away).

The Discovery Channel's A Haunting

A year or so after we visited Summerwind the Discovery Channel aired an episode of A Haunting that featured Summerwind. We learned a lot of information we didn't know about the house and it's history in this episode. Some very interesting information at that.

In this episode we learned that Summerwind has, or it at least had a tendency and ability to call out to people. To make them come to it and feel for it. It's possible my husband's vibes and his dreams could have been a form of this. Or perhaps it's something totally unrelated. We may never know for sure. We also learned that the father whilst in his insanity killed a pet raccoon the family had. We looked back over the photo of that critter. I sure could pass for a raccoon as well. Once again we may never know.

Speaking To Chad Lewis

Chad Lewis is one half of the team responsible for the Haunted Road Guide series of books. We've had a few chances to meet him and Terry and see him speak. He never disappoints with his appearances and each and everyone you take a little information back with you. It was at one of these lectures that we learned that others he has interviewed have had similar experiences of the house calling to them, and knowing where it is, but they'd never been there before.

For those, like myself who are wondering, no, he did not experience anything out of the ordinary at Summerwind. What we do know is that at least for us. Summerwind lived up to it's reputation as Wisconsin's most haunted house. I'd love to return there, but it's private property and, well we can't trespass on it now.

Report from: Jennifer N

Resource: Associated Content
Yetihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08045465176267779306noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729291099018978532.post-80850748937189311672009-05-14T14:13:00.000-07:002009-05-14T14:16:04.145-07:00Mystery Animal Roaming Iredell County NC?A love of outdoor activities has led Dennis and Joan Carter across the country. They’ve seen animals of every stripe and size.
On Monday afternoon, while returning from a weekend camping jaunt at Kerr Scott Reservoir in Wilkes County, the couple was startled to the point of awe when a huge cat crossed in front their vehicle on N.C. Highway 115 in northern Iredell County.
“It was a cat, I’m sure of that,” Dennis said. “It didn’t look anything like a dog or coyote. It walked and moved like a cat, not like a dog.”
The couple said they spotted the animal on Wilkesboro Highway near Taylor Springs Road and Rupard Road. Dennis described it as being light gray in color and about 6 feet long, including “a long curled tail.”
The animal was traveling west direction with a “loping” gait until it reached the street.
“And then it took off,” Dennis said, “and jumped down into the creek.”
The question is: What did the Carters see?
Dennis swears it was a cougar or a big cat very similar to it.
But Tanya Cline, manager of the wildlife habitats at Grandfather Mountain, said such a thing “is extremely unlikely.”
As far as she knows, the only two cougars in western North Carolina — Nikata, a female, and Aspen, a male — are under her care at the habitat.
“They have been extirpated from this area,” she said, using a term synonymous with “local extinction” and meaning “no longer indigenous.”
In other words, cougars used to live in North Carolina but have moved on.
Also, Cline said, cougars (which, she said, are also known as mountain lions, panthers, pumas and upward of 100 other names) are brown or tan in color, not gray.
The Carters, who live just outside Statesville’s city limits, are firm about the color of the animal they saw.
So Cline is stumped. She said she has heard rumors of gray-colored cougars but knows of none that has ever been captured.
“One possibility,” she said, “is that this was an exotic pet someone had that the owners let go or that got away.”
Cline is not denying that the Carters saw a big cat and says there have been other sightings of cougars around the state.
“A lot of people claim to have seen them,” she said. “But the State of North Carolina says they’re not here.”
Greg Jenkins of Wildlife in North Carolina magazine agrees that if the Carters did see a cougar it is almost certainly one that had been in captivity.
“There are people in the state who have them,” he said. “And they do get away.”
Jenkins re-emphasized that the state’s official word on the matter is that there are no naturally wild cougars in the state.
“But they’re sexy,” Jenkins added. “And people want to see them. But they can also kill people.”Whatever the Carters saw, they are concerned the animal may do damage to livestock.
Dennis said he contacted the Iredell County Animal Services & Control Department, which directed him to the N.C.
